I'm going to join in here- my 16.3hh 1400lbs warmblood is FINE with his ears, until you bring the clippers out. I can clip anywhere else on his body, his bridlepath, his face, but ears? No. So you know what happens? He gets a twitch put on, I clip his ears as fast as I can (with minimal fuss I might add), then the twitch gets taken off and he gets a carrot. I'm not going to mess around with misbehavior when I'm less than a fifth his size. Game over, shit happens, and the training goes on!

“Horse abuse extraordinaire” should really just be my blog title

Lopez HATED having his ears touched so when I went riding with this young guy that trained horses he would basically put him in a headlock and just tug and pull and poke at his ears until eventually Lopez just got over it and realised touching his ears ISN'T bad and its okay! People are stupid really, how can they get used to it if they aren't shown it? Seriously.
